If your course is less than 12 weeks long, you’ll need only a visitor visa to come to New Zealand. However, if you plan to study for more than 12 weeks you’ll need to apply for a student visa by post or at your nearest Immigration New Zealand Office.
Most students will travel to NZ on a Visitors Visa, Student Visa or Working Holiday Visa.
Once you’ve chosen your course the next step is to get your application sorted. At NZIE we are here to help. Just send us an enquiry through our enquiry page on the website and we’ll let you know what New Zealand visa you need.
WHEN APPLYING REMEMBER TO TAKE WITH YOU:
• OFFER OF PLACEMENT: The offer of place from NZIE (New Zealand Institute of Education)
• MONEY: Proof that you have enough money for living costs while studying.
• TRAVEL DETAILS: A return airline ticket to your home country, or proof that you have enough money to buy one.
•PARENTAL CONSENT: If you’re under 18 years old, a written guarantee from the institution or another person that suitable accommodation is available to you in New Zealand.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I WANT TO EXTEND MY COURSE?
