Congratulations, Christian! Your internship programme became a career in New Zealand!
After acquiring practical knowledge and skills in information technology (IT), Christian Camacho’s efforts helped him land a permanent job.
He came to New Zealand four years ago and studied English for 6 months and consequently a 2-year business course that, unfortunately, could not provide any job that would help him get a resident visa. Luckily, he found NZIE.
Despite not having any previous background in IT, Christian ventured to take NZIE’s sister school Avonmore‘s Diploma in Computer (Network Systems and Engineering). “I was not afraid, since I was always interested in how the Internet and technology work.”
Loving what he has learned and being passionate about it helps him do his best, previously spending most of his free time studying at home. He does, nonetheless, always makes time to go to church and pray to God, during the hard times and to thank him for the good ones.
Christian particularly cites the encouragement and support his tutor, Paul Mani, has always given him every step of the way: “Paul is very motivating. He is the best professor I have ever had in my life.”
“Four companies actually offered me a job, but I chose Flintfox, because I really like working there,” shares Christian.
A bright future certainly awaits this young man, who has this to say to all those thinking of coming to New Zealand to study: “Work hard, persevere, do what you need to do, and you will get it.”
Well done Christian! NZIE and Think Recruit wish you all the very best.
