While NZIE provides resources and support for students looking for the next step in their careers. Moreover, it also helps students improve in their studies.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p> Students can access academic workshops, one-on-one tutor support, learning hubs, time management workshops and the Te Whare Tapa Wh\u0101 health and well-being model delivered by the NZIE Client Success Team.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p> Not only do these resources provide students of courses like the <\/span>Digital Marketing Diploma<\/span><\/a> with tools to lift their game in class. In addition, they also receive valuable life skills; no matter what career path they take.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t The Client Success Team looks after academic and non-academic issues and challenges for students on their journey.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p> Prior to starting the course curriculum, we offer a two-hour academic workshop in the first two weeks. As a result, students gain a stronger understanding of what is required from an academic point of view.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p> There is also one-on-one support available from tutors every week. Tutors have a calendar with available time slots you can book.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p> In NZIE\u2019s learning management system, there is a learning hub of resources that answers common questions and queries from students. For instance, we have a resource on how to construct your written essays. Moreover, we are continually taking on feedback to improve the student experience by constantly updating the learning hub\u2019s contents.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p> Our Product Development Manager, <\/span>Emily Cordwell<\/span><\/a>,<\/span> is also a time management specialist. She runs a successful podcast called <\/span>Managing the Juggle<\/span> and contributes to the learning hub with her time management workshops. This has been beneficial because some students underestimate the time needed to do their assignments. Furthermore, it is great for full-time students that may also be juggling a full-time job, young family and other commitments.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t NZIE has model in place to help students succeed in their studies.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p> This is a M\u0101ori health model developed by Mason Durie, where we approach situations by looking at ways to improve the four sections of Hauora (well-being). The four sides consist of physical health, spiritual well-being, mental & emotional and family & social.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p> NZIE also utilises the Tuakana-Teina relationship and mentor model. This is where graduates or students further down the course can partner with newer students for additional support.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p> Pictured below is a diagram of Te Whare Tapa Wh\u0101:<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t Jana, the NZIE Client Success Advisor, can provide one-on-one meetings. This is a chance to make use of having a supportive listening ear, which helps to identify possible roadblocks that may come up during studies. This includes managing a busy workload or juggling schedules around work or family commitments.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p> Another part of Jana\u2019s role is to keep an eye on low attendance or engagement. Jana will personally follow up to see what the circumstances are and come up with different solutions for students to consider. For example, she may offer deferment, additional catch-ups or workshop recordings. She can even chat about assignment extensions if required, and as another resort change students to part-time.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p> NZIE has a dedicated well-being coach Shirley Wood. At the week five mark, Shirley will often jump into the digital classes to offer help and support. This is a good way to introduce herself and remind students that her services are there.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p> Additionally, we\u2019ve found this is a good way for students to familiarise themselves with our well-being coach.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p> If students need further support, all they need to do is reach out and let an NZIE staff member know. From there, NZIE can access help depending on how much support you think you need or want. Which will then depend on weekly, fortnightly or monthly check-in sessions. All of which are 100% confidential.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t Taking on level 7 studies can be daunting, especially for career changers or those new to the digital landscape. We have set up a stand-out student experience with a robust support system.
