This Social Media Course will teach you how to use social media channels to create, manage, and engage strategically with potential and existing business opportunities. In addition, you will also learn how to convert them into realised business outcomes.   

Learn about paid and organic posting, social media etiquette, scheduling and strategic time planning and audience demographic profiling.  

Undertake a gap analysis of current social media marketing activity and trends against potential growth, competitors and product demand.  

Learn social media fundamentals and strategy planning for a variety of channels including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Pinterest.   

Learn how to A/B split test and measure the effectiveness of your marketing campaigns.  

 

Map out the goals for a business of your choice. Identify the gaps in their current marketing to form the foundation of your social media strategy.

Who meets the entry criteria for this programme?

Be employed or seeking employment in small to medium businesses or organisation.  You’ll need to meet the following English Language requirements:  

  • Successfully completed 3 years secondary education in English from one of the following countries: New Zealand, Australia, Canada, the Republic of Ireland, South Africa, the United Kingdom and the United States; OR  
  • Successfully completed an NZQA level 3 study, or equivalent, in any subject in English from one of the following countries: New Zealand, Australia, Canada, the Republic of Ireland, South Africa, the United Kingdom and the United States; OR  
  • Successfully attained an IELTS score of 5.5 with no band below 5 OR an equivalent test.

What are the fees for this Social Media Marketing course?

Are there exams? How will I be assessed?

There are no exams.  Your assessment will be portfolio-based and you’ll develop this over the 7 week course.  At the conclusion of the programme, you will have developed a completed social media marketing strategy to address the identified industry issue. 

Is this training programme NZQA accredited?

Yes, this programme leads to the award of the Certificate in Social Media Marketing Strategy (Micro-Credential).  

Learners who successfully complete the requirements of this programme will be awarded the Certificate in Social Media Marketing Strategy and will be recorded on the Learner’s NZQA Record of Learning.   

To be awarded the Certificate in Social Media Marketing Strategy, learners must complete all assessment requirements.  

What’s the difference between this course and your Diploma in Digital Marketing?

This course focuses on a specific skill. In this case, developing a Social Media Strategy. Entry Criteria:

To be admitted into NZ Certificate in English Language Level 4 General, all applicants must meet the following requirements:

a) Be a speaker of English as an additional language; and

b) Hold a NZCEL Applied Level 3 [3667] qualification; or

c) Pass an NZIE entry test that meets the requirements for the CEFR B2 requirements or equivalent; and

d) Be of a minimum age of 16 years or older; and.

e) Be a New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency OR Certificate of Refugee Status and evidence of eligibility to study for the duration of enrolment.
