A Night to Remember: Celebrating Success at NZIE’s Graduation

Graduation is a time to recognise and celebrate the hard work and dedication of our students as they prepare to step into the next chapter of their lives. Recently, NZIE hosted a memorable graduation ceremony that did just that, honouring the achievements of our students in a meaningful way.

The Event

Held at the B:Hive in Takapuna, Auckland, the event kicked off at 6:30 pm and wrapped up around 9:00 pm. Just under 40 students, surrounded by 16 NZIE staff members — including the CEO Rob Marks, Academic Manager Laurie Richardson, Programme Leader Miriam Seifert, and various academic and support staff — were celebrated for their accomplishments.

A Highlight

One of the highlights of the evening was a performance by a Kapa Haka group, which added a special cultural dimension to the event. This wasn’t just a performance; it was a powerful reminder of NZIE’s commitment to honouring New Zealand’s diverse cultural landscape and fostering a sense of community and belonging.

The Ceremony

The most important part of the evening was, of course, the awarding of diplomas. This moment marked the official recognition of each student’s hard work and achievements, symbolising their transition from students to graduates.

Valedictorian Spotlight: Jessica Prujean

Jessica Prujean was named valedictorian, a well-deserved recognition of her outstanding achievements and resilience. Her speech resonated with her fellow graduates, reflecting the challenges and triumphs they all experienced during their time at NZIE.

Cultural Support at NZIE

NZIE takes pride in incorporating cultural elements into our ceremonies. The inclusion of Maori protocols and community involvement enriches the event, making it more significant and ensuring that everyone feels a sense of belonging.
