Keeping up with the rapid pace of digital marketing can be challenging. Luckily, we can leverage technology to make our lives easier. We’ve all heard of Canva and ChatGPT, but what other tech apps can fill the gaps in our digital marketing toolbox to help us work smarter, not harder? The best recommendations often come from digital marketers already working with the tools. So, with saying that, here are some of our faves.

#1. Transkriptor

Transkriptor is software that converts audio and video files into text. It allows you to automatically transcribe meetings, video content, conversations, podcasts, and lectures into a text format, which can then be used in blog posts, social media, or web copy. It’s a great time saver especially for those who need to create a lot of content, and don’t always have to listen to the full video and audio and take notes.

#2. Loom

Loom is a screen recording tool that allows you to capture and record your screen and audio, edit, and share video content via a Loom link. You can use Loom to record a meeting to refer back to later, record messages for a recipient for enhanced communication, or create an easily shareable presentation with slides and a cam bubble. The software is user-friendly and easy to learn. Just hit record, make your video, upload, and share.

#3. Descript

With remote work becoming more common but video content still the preferred medium for social media platforms, how do digital marketers create video content without being in the same space as your clients? Descript is a tool that can be used to create video content for YouTube, podcasts, and social media, all from the comfort of your home or office. It has some useful AI features, like green screens and ‘eye contact’ – so when you’re reading a script it can make it look like you were looking at the screen the whole time – and it can help pick the clips that are most likely to go viral to use on social media.

#4. AudioPen

AudioPen converts voice notes into text that is easy to read and share. Are you someone who gets brilliant ideas while you’re out and about or commuting? You can use AudioPen to brainstorm and transcribe your ideas, so rather than starting with a blank page when you arrive at the office, you already have a legible draft to edit and publish. All you have to do is speak into the app, and AudioPen will summarise your thoughts into editable text.

#5. Adobe Express

When it comes to online design tools, Canva is king. However, Adobe is still a major player in the design and print world. You may not know this, but Adobe offers a free online design tool called Adobe Express. Similar to Canva, you can use it to edit photos, create social media graphics, and produce video content. It also has a library of design templates, a user-friendly interface, and free and paid options. It’s a great alternative to Canva and an option for those already invested in the Adobe ecosystem.

#6. Podsqueeze

Podsqueeze is an AI podcast, production, and promotion generator designed to streamline the workflow for podcast creators. It offers several benefits: such as podcast transcript generation (transcribe your podcast audio into text and repurpose it for a blog post, social media, newsletter, or show notes), and a feature that allows you to repurpose your audio content as video for social media. Simply, select a chapter from your episode and export it as a clip or audiogram.

#7. ProWritingAid

Finally, if you’re a regular user of Grammarly, you may have heard of ProWritingAid. It deserves a mention, because it goes beyond catching typos, grammar, and punctuation mistakes and offers valuable suggestions to help you improve your writing and sentence structure for better readability. It also easily integrates with platforms like Google Docs and Microsoft Word. So, if you write a lot of content, tools like Grammarly or ProWritingAid are a must!
