Seven Thoughtful Gifts for Digital Marketers

gifts for marketers

Are you looking for a gift to reward your in-house or contracting digital marketer for a great job this year? Perhaps you have a family member who works in digital marketing, and youd like to get them a useful gift for their job. Or maybe you are a digital marketer, and youd love to drop some hints for a fab gift! Whatever the reason, weve put together a few ideas that would make perfect presents for any digital marketer.

Seven great gifts for a digital marketer

1. Stationery

Sure, the term digital marketing implies, quite rightly, that a lot of stuff is done on computers. But there’s nothing nicer than a great notebook and pen to get the creativity flowing, a planner for organising the month’s social posts, or maybe some funky sticky notes for keeping ideas front and centre. Treat someone to a high-quality notebook or pen from their favourite brand.

2. Good food

Most digital marketers try to eat healthily, but sometimes, when you are trying to get all the social media posts scheduled for a campaign in a hurry or dream up ideas for the next blog post, cookies and coffee are the only answer. So invest in a gift of their favourite snacks, a food hamper or a gift voucher for a local cafe.

3. Stress relief

There’s plenty to cause stress in the digital marketing world. Like when the website traffic numbers don’t add up or when a social media post you thought was a winner turns out to be a flop. When that happens, it’s great to have some stress relief options on hand. That could be as simple as some at-home stress relievers like a hand-held massage tool, a scented candle or a fidget game. Or splash out and book them some serious relaxation with a facial or massage session.

4. Something for the office

Whether they work in an office or from home, there’s plenty of scope for gifts to brighten the space up. Choose a plant to add relaxing greenery, a nice ornament or desk tidy. Or, if you want to splash out, offer to buy some new furniture like an ergonomic chair.

5. A techy gift

Digital marketers and a love of shiny new tech often go hand in hand. Which means upgrading their tech is a great gift option. A new mouse, some fabulous headphones, a new mic for podcasting or lights for TikTok videos, a portable power bank, a USB hub for all those chargers – the options are boundless.

A word of warning before you buy, though – make sure to check that what you want to buy is compatible with what they already have.

You can also find great tech gifts to make life better. There will be no more cold coffees if you buy a rechargeable mug warming coaster!

 6. A subscription to a helpful tool or resource for everyday work

Digital marketing involves a lot of tools – from keyword research to ROI reports on email campaigns to monitoring social media followers to checking spelling and grammar. And a lot of those cost money if you want the good stuff. So invest in a subscription to a favourite tool so they can enjoy the premium features.

7. Something to help with professional development

The world of digital marketing is constantly changing, so continuous learning and professional development is a must. But just like all those subscriptions, professional development often costs money. So, buy a subscription to a resource like a magazine that can help them keep up with developments in the sector, invest in tickets to a relevant event or pay for a course that will help them learn new skills or build on what they already have.

Of course, we think a course from NZIE is a great option – one of our short courses would fit the bill perfectly. But if you aren’t sure which course is right, give them a personalised voucher promising an amount for a course of their choice.

Bonus idea

Know a digital marketer who’s got everything? Sometimes, people are already set up with everything they need. If that’s the case, consider giving them a gift that allows them to do some good (and feel good at the same time). Several organisations in New Zealand offer good gifts”, whether it’s gift cards for donations to a charity, donating native trees to be planted around the country or providing food and supplies for children or animals in need.

We hope we’ve inspired you as you head to the shops. Happy gifting!
