Domestic and international students must have completed:
NZQF level 5, or
a 3-year Diploma, or
a Degree,
in a field related to the applicant’s chosen major for the Advanced Management, International Marketing, and Hospitality Management majors; in an engineering discipline for the Engineering Management major; or in a health care-related discipline for the Healthcare Management major.
In lieu of a formal qualification, applicants may apply if they have at least three years suitable work experience. Under this criteria it is expected the work experience be directly related to the field the applicant wishes to major. The suitability of the applicant will be assessed and decided by the NZIE Academic Board.
Applicants for whom English is not their first language are required to have an IELTS academic score of 6.0 with no band score lower than 5.5, or TOEFL (pBT) score of 550 (with an essay score of 5 TWE), or TOEFL (iBT) score of 60 (with writing score of 18), or Cambridge English Examinations FCE, or FCE for schools, or CAE, or CPE with a score of 169. No less than 162 in each skill, or NZCEL Level 4, with the academic endorsement, or Pearson Test of English (Academic) with an Academic score of 50, or City & Guilds IESOL, B2 communicator or with a score of 66. Results must come from one test conducted in the last 2 years.
This course introduces students to the concepts and theories that underpin digital marketing approaches and their context within conventional marketing. It lays the foundation for understanding how to drive ROI-based digital marketing activities in order to achieve business objectives and goals.
This course examines the importance of content marketing & media and analyses how to leverage digital content strategically to achieve organisational/campaign objectives. It provides students with the knowledge and skills to track and interpret online consumer behaviour and to develop appropriate content marketing campaigns based on ROI principles.
The aim of this course is to provide students with practical learning towards the development of online media using digital design principles and the application of media in the digital space. You will learn to use tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe XD, Adobe Premier Pro and Canva. Developing a brand include logos, google display ads and social media videos.
This course integrates knowledge and understanding of websites and eCommerce fundamentals. It further examines security, legal and ethical issues, and technology that underpins eCommerce, and advances practical skills in designing a technology solution for an eCommerce application. You will learn HTML to build a simple landing page. Then you will use WordPress to build an eCommerce live website as part of this course.
This course examines how mobile marketing fits into a brand’s overall strategy. Also, it covers current trends, laws and ethics from national and global perspectives, mobile advertising, and principles of developing an automated mobile marketing campaign. This course also looks at the future of Digital Marketing and the effect that this could have on your marketing strategy.
This course examines the relevance of social media & email marketing in communications, digital communications landscape, and provides tactical knowledge and skills to create, manage, and deliver social media & email strategies to achieve business/campaign outcomes using tools such a Mail Chimp, Hootsuite and Facebook Business Manager. You will complete some Hubspot certificates as part of this course.
The aim of this course is to gain a comprehensive understanding of the search engine business model with tools and techniques for lead generation and ROI. As part of this course, you will become certified in Google Ads at the foundation and advanced level.
This course offers practical insights into the basics of Web Analytics and Measurement in order to help discover the digital insights hidden in web data and how these insights can be used to improve consumers’ online experience and achieve organisational objectives. As part of this course, you will become certified in Google Analytics at the foundation and advanced level.
