“Knowledge is never enough and a new challenge in my life would be the start of a career in a foreign country”

I’m Eduardo I’m 37 years old. I have been in professional information marketing in Brazil for almost 20 years. I’m Postgraduate in business back home but I thought to myself that knowledge is never enough and a new challenge in my life would be a start in this career in a foreign country, that’s why I choose NZIE to help me with that.

How did your programme help you achieve your goals?

So I came to New Zealand and the program of the course helped me a lot to understand how things work out here in New Zealand and as well as all the knowledge I get in the course, the internship program helped me to get inside the work market here. This provided me an opportunity, a role in the company, where I’m working now and I’m very happy that I made the right decision here. NZIE it helped me a lot because the whole program made me understand a lot on how to do things here and start in the right way.

How did your internship become a job?

Facing an internship program you have to understand you’re not a student anymore. You have to understand that’s your first opportunity to act as a professional and people in the company will be watching you. So once you understand this is a huge opportunity to start your career here in New Zealand, do it. Because in my example they offered me a job because they never thought that was I student anymore, I have a responsibility in the company. So as a consequence of that my career really started here, face your internship as your first step in your career.
