Diploma in Digital Marketing Graduate

Elena’s Background Before Joining NZIE

I am a Law Graduate where I studied for a Bachelor’s Degree in Law. After studying, I started working for an education agency in New Zealand called Kiwi Education. I have been working here for four years, and I initially started working here as a Customer Service Manager. As a Customer Service Manager, I would consult with international clients about the different types of education and qualifications available in New Zealand.

Why Elena Chose to Study the Digital Marketing Diploma at NZIE

As much as I enjoyed working as a Customer Service Manager, I knew that I wanted to do something that was a bit more hands-on and practical. That’s when my boss and I looked at sending me to an institution that offered knowledge in Digital Marketing. Digital Marketing seemed like it was the right for me, and it’s the closest to what I wanted to be and do in the future. Working at an education agency gave me the advantage of knowing about all the various educational courses and programmes available in New Zealand. Therefore, I researched digital marketing courses in New Zealand and narrowed it down to two institutions. I decided to pursue my studies with the New Zealand Institute of Education – NZIE.

" I specifically chose to study at NZIE because I received excellent feedback from my clients at NZIE. Also, the NZIE Digital Marketing course was very practical and applied compared to the other Digital Marketing courses available in the New Zealand market."

Elena’s Experience at NZIE

My experience at NZIE was great; I learned so much. And I also found out what precisely within Digital Marketing I wanted to specialise in. I enjoyed the Digital Marketing Diploma as it was very practical. I specifically enjoyed the Digital Design and Website courses where I learned how to use different types of software such as Adobe PhotoshopAdobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign. Also I got to learn how to create websites for companies using HTML coding and WordPress. Although some assessments were tricky, I liked that they were applied and centred around real-life business case studies. The tutors were very knowledgeable about the digital marketing industry and provided the students with a lot of support and help.

Elena’s Journey After NZIE

After completing my studies at NZIE, I continued working for Kiwi education. However, I got promoted to a new role – Digital Marketing Specialist with my new skills and knowledge. In this role, I am responsible for Kiwi Education’s social media platforms and content. Everything I do in this job role, I learned through NZIE’s Digital Marketing Diploma. For instance, I can design cool social media posts and create engaging content, e.g. blogs and newsletters.

I would strongly recommend the Diploma in Digital Marketing to other people, as I’ve learned everything I really needed to know for my job role. As mentioned before, it’s a practical course compared to other digital marketing courses in New Zealand. You’ll be able to use everything you learn and apply it to real-life situations.

Elena’s Future Goals and Plans

Currently, I’m not looking to go anywhere or change jobs. I enjoy what I do, and will most likely stay with Kiwi Education for a while. It’s exciting here, and right now at my job, we are launching two new products! So, I’ll be in charge of the marketing material and campaigns for these two products. How exciting!
