Diploma in Digital Marketing

"Digital Marketing has played a massive role and has been one of those key steps to help me get closer to where I want to be".

Transcript:

My name is Hamish Burke and I’m a writer-creator, storyteller, and digital marketer among other things.

Growing up, I grew up on a farm and I think that’s been a massive stepping stone into where I’ve ended up now. We were always outdoors, always doing things in nature and in the environment, going on adventures. And that’s what’s really made me tick. Being in that outdoor environment, it gives the mind clarity. It allows me to focus and really delve deeper on a creative level.

Over the years I’ve always been into a bunch of different things and have enjoyed trying different jobs, different activities. And really looking for something that makes me tick. When I left school I became a builder and got qualified in that but wasn’t really ticking the boxes for me. So I started a company called Huus doing brand development and selling clothing.

As time progressed and I was looking for something a little bit more… Which was when I found and started the Diploma in Digital Marketing at NZIE. Since completing the Diploma in Digital Marketing, Huus’s has gone onto doing brand development in Digital Marketing itself under Huus Creative. And I’ve been lucky enough to work with some amazing brands and businesses. Most recently I’ve been working with the Audi Quattro Winter Games as their Social Media Manager. This has been an unreal role and it’s put us in some really cool environments.

Digital Marketing has played a massive role and has been one of those key steps to help me get closer to where I want to be.
