She proved her doubts wrong and is now a super successful Senior Account Manager, living and working in Australia.
Check out the video where we chatted to Tracy about her highlights from the digital marketing course, why she loves working as a digital marketer, and her experience studying online.

Hi, I’m Tracy Dallimore. I am currently working in Australia at Pontoon Marketing as a Senior Account Manager.
I decided to study digital marketing at NZIE because I had an e-commerce business. When I had my business, I designed the mermaid tails that I was selling. But when it came to marketing and social media marketing, I felt a bit lost. I wanted to have strategies that would help my business grow.
My highlights from studying at NZIE were the connections that I felt with other students. Even though we were working remotely, and we didn’t have much interaction, I felt that connection with everyone.
I enjoyed learning from Rajika. I studied with her for most of my Diploma. She was either working as a tutor or helping us with our assignments and answering all our endless questions. I felt that she was patient with us.
Initially, when I thought about studying, I was interested in the Digital Design paper. And then when I got into it, I think I enjoyed Web Design the most. Because that used a little bit of design, it also helped me incorporate other aspects and think about how the whole course fitted together holistically. It made me think about SEO and user experience, plus data and how it all fits together. And I think I probably gained the most value from that course.
I felt the course was flexible, especially in terms of being online.
I was initially very hesitant because I wanted to do the course in person and the course moved online, but it worked out perfectly because I have children. And so, it helped me fit in with my family commitments.
I love working as a digital marketer. I chose this career later on in my life, and I really valued the learnings that we got.
I highly recommend [the NZIE Diploma] to any parent. I liked the way we were taught to do things ethically. I feel that was the most valuable lesson that I got from it.
