Tony Laws

Diploma in Digital Marketing Graduate

Meet Tony, a recent graduate of the Diploma in Digital Marketing. Tony has a unique success story because he came to us as an existing pro in his field. However, he was eager to learn more and broaden his skillset and expertise. During the 2021 B:Hive graduation we sat down with Tony and asked him a few questions. He spoke about his experience with NZIE, his background, where he is at currently and his future goals. Below is his transcript to his video success story.

Background before NZIE

Prior to studying at NZIE I was working in various marketing roles. Such as agencies, the travel industry and so on. However, my purpose of studying Digital Marketing with NZIE and doing the diploma was to upskill in other disciplines. My background was more the PPC side (Pay-Per-Click ad model). Therefore being able to learn more about social media marketing, SEO (Search Engine Marketing), designing websites, and content marketing was all very helpful. Especially for my career opportunities and moving forward.

 Currently after NZIE

I’m currently working for a small New Zealand business doing their marketing. That involves working across multiple disciplines. I’m quite enjoying it and being able to implement what I’ve learnt at NZIE in that role.

“You may know something about a certain area but if you’re unsure about others, then NZIE is a great place to start!

Future Goals

My goals moving forward is to continue to learn about the various marketing disciplines and to help others along the way as well. I would recommend anyone that’s interested in digital marketing, or would like to give it a go, to get in touch with the team at NZIE. You will definitely learn new skills.

If you’re an experienced marketer looking to broaden your skillset in digital then consider the Diploma in Digital Marketing today. The programme is great for existing professionals or experienced marketers who are wanting to pick up complementary skills.
